Getting Started

Audiophilio is a professional audio toolkit for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It includes an SPL Meter, Real-Time Analyzer, Waterfall Plot, LUFS Meter, Room Designer with acoustic overlays, System Builder for signal chain planning, and a full measurement suite including Impedance Analyzer, Distortion Analyzer, Delay Finder, and Polarity Checker.
Yes. The SPL Meter, Real-Time Analyzer, one room layout, and one system build are all free with no time limit. The Premium in-app purchase ($44.99, one-time) unlocks unlimited rooms and systems, plus the advanced acoustic overlays and the full measurement suite.
Audiophilio runs on iPhone, iPad, and Mac (Apple Silicon). It requires iOS 18 or macOS 15 Sequoia or later.
No account is required to use Audiophilio. iCloud sync and community features use your existing Apple ID if you're signed in to iCloud — no separate sign-up needed.

Measurement Tools

The SPL Meter, Real-Time Analyzer, Waterfall Plot, LUFS Meter, Impedance Analyzer, Distortion Analyzer, Delay Finder, and Polarity Checker all use your device's microphone to capture audio for measurement. All processing is done entirely on-device — audio is never recorded, stored, or sent anywhere.
Measurements are limited by the microphone hardware in your device. For relative measurements (comparing positions, comparing before/after treatment, checking polarity), the app is excellent. For calibrated absolute SPL measurements, Audiophilio supports external calibrated microphones — simply connect one via USB, Lightning, or USB-C for reference-grade accuracy. The app is designed to be a powerful, always-available tool — not a replacement for a dedicated measurement rig.
Yes. Audiophilio uses the system audio input, so any microphone your device recognizes — USB, Lightning, USB-C, or Bluetooth — will work automatically. This includes calibrated measurement microphones, which will give you reference-grade accuracy across all measurement tools. iOS will show an input selector when multiple options are available.

Room Designer

Yes — on supported devices. Tap the Scan Room button in the Room Designer to use your device's LiDAR sensor to automatically capture your room's dimensions, walls, doors, and windows. You can choose Full Scan (captures the complete room geometry including all openings) or Architecture Only (captures walls and structure without furniture). Supported hardware: iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, and all later Pro models; iPad Pro 2020 (11-inch and 12.9-inch) and later. LiDAR scanning is not available on iPhone or iPad models without a LiDAR sensor, or on Mac.
Tap the 3D button in the toolbar at the top of the room canvas. When active (highlighted green), you're in 3D orbit mode — drag to rotate the view, pinch to zoom. When inactive, you're in the top-down 2D plan view where you can drag elements to reposition them.
In the 2D plan view, tap an element to select it, then drag it to reposition. A panel at the bottom of the screen lets you set exact dimensions and position. Tap the pencil icon in the selection panel for full size editing.
Premium overlays include: Heat Map (visualizes standing wave pressure across your room at specific frequencies), First Reflections (shows where sound from your speakers first bounces off walls, floor, and ceiling), Toe-in Arcs (shows the listening axis of each speaker to help with aim), and Room Modes (labels the axial, tangential, and oblique mode frequencies for your specific room dimensions).
Open a system in the System Builder and tap the Export Diagram button (↑) in the top-right toolbar. A menu appears with all available formats — tap one and the share sheet or save panel opens immediately. Available formats: Share PNG (send via Messages, Mail, AirDrop, etc.), Export JPEG, Save to Photos, Export PDF, Export CSV, Export JSON, and Export Markdown. The export always renders a clean auto-layout view so the result looks polished regardless of how you have the canvas arranged.

iCloud & Data

Your rooms and systems are stored locally on your device. If you're signed in to iCloud, they also sync to your private iCloud account via CloudKit. Audiophilio has no servers of its own — your data is yours.
Audiophilio uses CloudKit for private sync and is designed to deliver changes reliably, even while the app is in the background. First, make sure both devices are signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID and have a network connection. If sync still seems slow, open the app on the receiving device — this triggers an immediate check for pending changes. In most cases changes arrive within a minute or two; occasionally CloudKit can take longer depending on server conditions. If problems persist, try signing out of iCloud and back in on the affected device.
Open Audiophilio and tap the premium lock on any locked feature. On the paywall screen, tap "Restore Purchase." As long as you're signed in with the same Apple ID you used to purchase, it will restore at no cost.
